ItsAllAboutBlackMusic Presents has announced an extraordinary series of free edultainment talks to celebrate the past, present, and future of hip hop in partnership with The Brooklyn Academy of Music and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. Sony corporation’s audio division, Sony Audio, is partnering with the company on two talks featuring an exceptional lineup of renowned artists Salt-N-Pepa, Remy Ma, Flo Milli, Rapsody, and moderators TT Torrez, and Beverly Bond taking place this weekend in the New York City area.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Sony to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip hop and the women who contributed to the genre,” says Salt-N-Pepa. “Being one of the first female hip-hop groups to help pave the wave for others coming up, it is ‘Very Necessary’ to continue the conversation to not only keep the culture and stories alive but to also remind the world how women have influenced hip hop. This incredible panel includes some of the most influential female voices in the game and we’re thrilled to come together to celebrate and uplift the women who have made such a powerful impact in music.”
As the pre-eminent platform for creative freedom, Sony Audio is supporting these talks through the lens of its new “For The Music” brand platform and campaign for its premier audio products and services. “For The Music” seeks to provide artists and fans with the most immersive music experiences while putting creator vision first, and these conversations will give fans throughout New York City the opportunity to hear first-hand from these groundbreaking Hip Hop artists.

The panels start Saturday, August 5th with Black Girls Rock! and Beverly Bond, talking about the future of the genre, with Rapsody, Dede Lovelace, and Kenya Vaun at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York. Featuring Rapper Rapsody, actress and DJ Dede Lovelace, and newcomer Kenya Vaun, in a timely discussion exploring women’s role in the future of hip hop, and the contributions of women in all facets of the culture — from the broad spectrum of emcees and performers to the DJs, storytellers, dancers, cultural content creators, and executives shot callers.
Sunday, August 6th will feature Salt-N-Pepa with Remy Ma, Flo Milli and TT Torrez at LaGuardia Arts Center on Long Island, New York. Moderated by multi-media personality and Hot 97’s TT Torrez, this cross-generational live conversation will explore the global impact of Salt-N-Pepa, how women emcees have laid the foundation for hip hop to evolve, and are continuing to push hip hop culture forward.
